'Raajmahal is the project of Carla Baker of Flower Orgy and Pat Murano of No Neck Blues Band, Decimus, K-Salvatore etc. Charybdis/Scylla is the project’s latest published work and follows the duo’s tape releases on Digitalis and Sloow Tapes, as well as two LPs on Murano’s Kelippah label. Here, Baker’s ethereal vocals hover in a celestial atmosphere that’s nurtured by Murano’s wisps of hushed, hazy electronics, mellow guitar fingering, and a swarm of other ambient sounds. It draws you into Raajmahal’s personal, spiritual realm, a place of devotion that’s cloaked in Eastern and Indian traditions.
